Trade Show Report | Women's Men's | Footwear Accessories: The outlook for Autumn-Winter 2009/10 is highly optimistic, brimming with respect for nature and the environment and radiant self-expression. Olivier Guillemin, in collaboration with the Comite Francais de la Couleur, present a Material Trend report at APLF Material with colors and textures that apply to footwear and the leather accessories market in the upcoming season.
Be Natural: urban natural
Nature still drives inspiration, creativity and progress. It is also an everyday luxury in the great quest for harmony. Our urban lifestyletakes us back to the source of things, to natural elements. The Weather, climate and the animal and vegetable kingdoms are inspiring and reassuring.
Palette: Subtle,natural, neutral tones for a range of weather colours, with driftinmist and cloud. A series of delicate tinted greys and sophisticatedsmoky tones. Animal , vegetable and mineral colours.
Materials & Texture: Textures are a contrast of nature's rough and soft: fibrous horsehair, scaly skins, carapace shell, horn, soft down, fleece, scratchy wool as well as crackled grain, moss and wood. Fabric surfaces are ribbed, veined, striped, grooved and grainy.
Styling & Applications:
A soft, casual spirit for an enveloping, protective fashion. An urban style that mixes wild, chic sportswear and luxurious and comfortable fabric. Natural elements are transposed and sublimated, contrasting animal, mineral and vegetable-inspired looks.
BE MYSTERIOUS: electric-romantic
The new hi-tech aesthetic codes with a feminine, romantic touch. The new style is a hybrid blend of baroque and futurism.
Palette: An alchemic range which conjures up modern virtual luxury. Fantastic tones, cool green, blue or purple-tinged chiaroscuro trigger an unreal feeling.
Materials & Texture: Supple, draped nappa. Kid leather and papery textures. Surfaces are undulating, creamy, milky, syrupy, watery, embossed, chiselled, gathered, flounced. Materials range from plasticy and translucent, to vibrant, vaporous or downy.

Futurist elegance everyday, for a full and contemporary styled tinged with freshness. Curved and sinuous lines for more softness, whimsy and femininity.
BE An Artist: eccentric-elegance
Fashion becomes a happening: showy and exhibitionist. Free expression and creative exuberance. Optimism and non-conformist guide our behaviour and impulses.
Palette: A theme for handling colour and glorying in a range as intense as an artist's palette. Tangible, real pigments that are precious, intense, flamboyant, unctuous and mouth-watering. Kaleidoscopic harmonies in bright, timeless tones, piling up and colliding.
Materials & Texture: Patinated, compressed, pinked, brocaded, woven materials, ultra glossy, couture details
Styling & Applications:
Daring and eccentric for a decorative, precious, sensual style. Mixing and crossing genres and styles in a paradoxical mood: retro-avantgarde & ethnic elegance.
BE Dynamic: techno-chic
An ultra contemporary theme, in which experimentation is the keynote. The new technologies spark tomorrow's active fashion: a technological, structured and streamlined spirit.
Palette: Non-colours become dynamic, in a mosaic of shadows or reflections. Textures reinvent neutrality lit up with cheeky, natural, bright or acid flashes.
