Runway Reports | Women's:The Fall 2009 runway season is well underway and we find ourselves referencing many sources for immediate information. We've canvased some of the Infomat team to see what sources they are perusing for of-the-moment editorial. The range is diverse, and includes the known, as well as a couple of upstarts; design oriented to financial. There are so many, here are a few of our favorite spots and articles:
New York Collections kicked off with a Teri Agins report for the Wall Street Journal: Designers Get a Taste of Sticker Shock.
"Now is the time to reinvent the designer business or they aren't going to have an industry," says Ron Frasch, president and chief merchandising officer at Saks Fifth Avenue. "The world doesn't need any more designer-priced goods," Mr. Frasch says. He is urging designers to create "good," "better" and "best" price tiers, and to price more of their clothes in the midprice "bridge" zone.
