Nestled and landlocked in the heart of South America at 9500 feet above sea level, in a valley that stretches out from the once-upon-a-time playground of the Incas majestic Andes Mountains, lies the city of Cochabamba - staging ground for Petits Fournier.

Under the leadership of Anabel Fournier, a native Costa Rican of French descent, more than 80 women knitters and seamstresses handcraft her unique designs into fine childrens apparel by combining delicate hues, colors, patterns, textures, fabrics and yarns

The special care taken by these Bolivian women from both Aymara and Quechua indigenous cultures manifests itself in the sophisticated yet whimsical designs that Petits Fournier have to showcase. Each of the pieces produced is hand-tailored using blends of the finest materials available on the continent, including Peruvian Pima and Tanguis cottons and natural yarns from the Andean alpaca and llama herds.

Petits Fournier's commitment to excellence rests on two pillars: a stellar design and astringent quality-control system. Stitch counts, lengths, knit patterns and color codes are all inspected by the trained eyes of production coordinators, who guide the process and ensure that each piece of apparel is a masterpiece that the artisans can be proud to present as their own original creations.
