The AF Vandevorst fashion show is by invitation only. Runway shows are for celebrities, retail buyers and press and are generally not open to the public. Fashion show production has become big business and is one of the most persuasive and influential marketing tools used by the fashion industry today. Nowhere is the fashion energy more electrifying than on the runways where collections are introduced.
Celebrities and important buyers get preferential treatment up front, in reserved seats along the runway. Photographers have prime locations at the end of the runway. Remaining seats are assigned according to a store buyer's importance or purchasing power. Standing room is reserved for friends and supporters of the designer.
