Presentation of Trends spring/summer 2007 by Munich Fabric Start.
melancholie

Soft, subtle brightness has a slight and unobtrusive look. Sober prebble tones together with white create graphic structures. Architecture and typography set straight-lined examples in coloured fabrics and prints. Compactly woven fine unis, mercerized cottons, flowing crepes and silky Jerseys underline sophistication. High-quality matt/gloss effects and indiscreet reliefs provide unis with a new appeal. The quiet chic gets a feminine counterpoint with washed-out looking voiles and crepons in "nude" nuances. Creamy beige tones and off-whites make refined harmonies possible. A silky and skin-like soft touch reflects the sophistication; the lingerie allure is underlined by tapes and braids.
cruising

A fresh breeze by the sea and Scandinavian light in summer favour a range of blues which is declined from white to Navy. Mint and crocus provide optimitic accents to the blue tones. Cotton perfectly interprets the materiality. Compact, pithy spinnakers, piques, micro-seersucker, chambray and denim cut a fine figure alsongside clean garbadines and tricotines. Colourings show shades that appear bleached by the sunlight and provide unis with a new persuasiveness. "Ice" finishes animate with a cool touch. Coloured fabrics quote simpler stripes and naive vichys, regimentals and striped tapes have maritime look. Fresh hoops and small geometric are to be found as patterns on jersey. In prints, flatly marked flowers and porcelain patterns feature most prominently
souvenirs

Faded photos from the 50s relate the story of holidays on the Riviera. Slightly subdued shades allow colours to appear more restrained. Washout blues and dry savannah tones are the basis for a relaxed casual feeling. Canvas, twills and panama in linen and occasionally file-cottons depend on naturalness. Garment-wash, pigment-dyeing and metal blends underline the cool nonchalance. Retro-stripes and medium light background checks are predestined web patterns. Pigment prints in retro ornamentation and tea-coloured Liberty flowers enrich the print statement. Jacquards attract attention unpretentiously in a washed finish and as if they were embroidered.
voyage

Travel to far-distant lands continues to a source of inspiration par excellence. Deep Asian Darks like ink, mahogany or tea green meet vigorous Latino nuances. Poppy, papya and fiery Sierra make spectacular harmonies possible. Less folkloric and more sophisticated, the trend clearly dissociates itself from the overloaded decoration of the past. Silk and linen are predestined for an adequate interpretation. Habutai, shantung and silk jacquards are part of the basic statement. Blends with linen highlight interwoven structures and nattes. Natural irregularity is further strengthened through about complex colour techniques. Patterns are based on Ikat and tie-dye effects. The interplay of jacquard on patterned chains permit the sophistication of Latino charm. Publisher: munich fabric start
