The Copenhagen Fashion week invited fashion professionals around the world for a preview on Danish fashion with elegant, beautiful collections at fascinating, raw and cool surroundings and settings.
The top of Danish fashion models and celebrities were well represented. Helena Christensen, May Andersen, Louise Pedersen, Mia Rosing and futher the new and young fresh faces: Eva-Helena and Freja Beha amongst others.
Designers Remix "Slave to love" was the theme of the Designers Remix show, where blindfolded models walked the runway wearing sexy and sophisticated pieces such as detailed knits, silk / siphon shirts, voluminous balloon jackets and feminine dresses dominated by white, black, bright red and dusty blue. A daring and exciting collection from Charlotte Eskildsen with inspiration from the audacious movie classic "9_ weeks", a great mixture of passion and desire yet with a touch of sophisticated minimalism and sexy pure innocence.
Susanne Rutzou Inspired by artist Alexander Calder"s organic shapes, Susanne Rtzou presented a classic style collection with a touch of glam. This season she has moved away from her usual romantic universe to pursue a feminine yet slightly masculine inspired style with raw pieces containing suspenders, cut off vests and "boyish" knickers. Predominant colours were basic black and white; spiced with peach, pale yellow and dark green.
Baum und Pherdgarten The designer duo Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave have mastered an interesting mix of inspiration from Audrey Hepburn and Blondie. A diva from the 50s meets cool punk pop princess for today. Their SS07 collection was dominated by denim and edgy combinations of sophisticated polka dot patterned satin tops and denim skirts or even the contradiction of a plain t-shirt wrapped in a black corset. Little "girlish" dresses with a raw touch entered the run way as well not to mention lacquered tight pants and feminine petite puffy shorts. Throughout the show the focus was especially on the waist line and in great classic tailor art.
By Groth Mette Groth named her summer collection "The Butterfly Effect". An overall cheerful and colourful collection with characteristic bold and happy colours and imaginative prints and patterns. Red, green and oceanblue in lovely silk and pure cotton. Feminine skirts and cropped off pants with embroidery and detailed jackets either with leaf motives or simply plain colours such as army green with a pink belt. Wonderful and happy styles for a perfect summertime.
Noa Noa Noa Noa presented a stylish SS07 collection inspired by Woody Allen"s latest movie "Match point". Sophisticated and romantic pieces - yet with at twist of a sporty edge such as balloon skirts, cropped pants and siphon dresses characterizes this seasons collection. All with the usual Noa Noa feminine and romantic touch emphasised with flower prints, stripes and dots and in pretty colours like lilac, ice-blue sky, navy, and pale delicate yellow. A charming spring collection with fine lines and details; just cool, calm and collected.
Bruuns Bazar A straight forward somewhat gentle and delicate collection was presented this season by Bjoern Bruun. The collection consisted of voluminous skirts and simple dresses for women and elegant jackets and nicely fitted shirts and vests for men all in soft colours such as pale yellow, peach, beige and pastel nuances in general. Inspired by the 1950 look just in a modern way, the elegant leather bags are definitely a must-have accessory next season.
Part Two With thoughts leading to Emilia Earhart, the first woman to single-handedly cross the Atlantic Ocean, the Part Two Spring collection was re-launched with a raw, cool yet soft and feminine design by Pernille Skriver. The theme was short pilot- and bikerjackets, pants and leather catsuits. In off-white, cognac, black and army. And for the nights and first summerdays, Pernille Skriver showed casual wear and chiffon dresses with romantic details.
Munthe Plus Simonsen After it was announced that the great Danish brand was in serious financial difficulty only weeks prior to presenting their SS07 collection, the expectations prior to the show were somewhat concerned. Nevertheless, a more clear and simple collection was displayed centring around "feminine frivolity, nowadays classic and sophistication" as the keywords of this season. Volume shirts and tunics and detailed balloon skirts with the signature embroidery were just some of the fine pieces in the SS07 collection. The colours were calm and simple, white, beige, pale blue and the exclusive black. So despite the designers own words "They can"t kill us We do that perfectly ourselves" it appears that Munthe plus Simonsen are here to stay. At least a more simple, elegant and sophisticated spring/summer line once again states their great designer talent.

Mads Nrgaard Mads Nrgaard"s final show of the 'Christiania trilogy' was named "Speak Up". And indeed he did. The show was 'The Show of the week' topping on the event scale. In the Graa Hall at Christiania Denmark's top models like Helena Christensen, Lykke May, Freja Beha and celebrities like Steen Joergensen from Sort Sol and Jokeren entered the catwalk. The collection was basic, fun and optimistic in feeling. With beautiful colours as yellow and white striped cardigans and bits of orange together with khaki and silver as well as the mandatory black. Pantsuits and zip up cardigans appeared in leopard print as a contrast to the otherwise minimalistic "back to basic" collection.
By Malene Birger An elegant and ultra feminine collection for the global woman consisting of classic and sophisticated pieces such as trench coats, light siphon dresses and detailed cropped pants was presented by Malene Birger. As something new she also represented an elegant shoe collection in fabrics such as canvas and lacquer. "Voyage" and "on the go" was stressed with a complete collection of bags; handbags, trolleys etc. As the crme de la crme and to finish off the show a magnificent collection of night and evening gala dresses were revealed in beautiful materials you just want to wear.
