BIOGRAPHY
Fashion designer, born Hannah Golofski in New York City, USA. In 1938 she started as a sketcher on Seventh Avenue. In 1948, Junior Sophisticates was launched, and Anne Klein & Co was established in 1968. She was a noted leader in designing sophisticated, practical sportswear for young women. She early recognized a need for blazers, trousers, and separates, and her designs became particularly popular in the USA.

Anne Klein defined the way American sportswear is worn and sold today. In 1968, she launched Anne Klein & Company with the specific goal of designing and marketing sportswear as coordinated separates. With its mix and match wardrobe of constructed jackets, pants and related pieces, Anne Klein's innovative strategy made her company an industry leader overnight.

The company continued to achieve impressive growth and prestigious honors: Anne Klein was presented with two Coty awards and named to the Coty Hall of Fame. She was chosen fo rthe now famous Franco-American presentation at Versailled in 1973. At the height of her success, Ann Klein died of Cancer unexpectedly in early 1974 at the age of 50.
